Obituary

Robert Joseph "Butch" Neuhoff, Sr. passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was 69 years old. Born in Elizabeth, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1977. He was a proud United States Army veteran serving from 1963-1965. Mr. Neuhoff had a rewarding 40 year career in the plastic industry. He served 18 years as an Operations Manager where he achieved the Union Carbide/Dow Chemical award for Quality Excellence 17 consecutive years. He was currently employed with Plastics Express, Edison, NJ. Bob proudly started the St. James Church, girls' basketball team coaching for several years, as well as coaching in the Molly Pitcher Softball League, and for Woodbridge Little League, where he served as President of the league. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary "Mae" Quigley Neuhoff. Surviving are his wife, Eileen Darcy Neuhoff; four daughters, Teresa Simony of Forked River, Mary Linda (Joe) Muniz of Woodbridge, Barbara (Scott) Vari of Tinton Falls and Michelle (Mike) Messina of Toms River; three sons, Robert J. Neuhoff Jr. of Woodbridge, Joseph (Jenny) Neuhoff of Waretown and John Patrick (Amanda) Neuhoff of Woodbridge; a sister, Joan Neuhoff, of Elizabeth; two brothers, Leonard and Gerald Neuhoff of Elizabeth; 12 grandchildren, Alex, Sarah, Scotty, Matt, Katie, Antonio, Madison, Alyssa, Sofia, Mateo, Makayla, and Quinn; 7 nieces and nephews; and 8 grandnieces and grandnephews. Nothing gave Bob more joy then spending time with his family, especially his 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tuition Angel Program or to Saint James Food Pantry c/o Saint James Church, 148 Greenville Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
