Robert Thomas Bruton passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. He was 30 years old.

Born June 4, 1986 in Staten Island, NY, he has resided in Avenel for the past 26 years.

A 2004 graduate of Colonia High School, Rob shortly thereafter started his career with AT&T and quickly discovered he had a gift for sales. He took great pride in his awards, achievements and recognition as a top salesman and manager. He also had a talent for fixing and repairing cellphones, tablets and other tech gadgets. If you knew him and ever had a broken phone, he probably fixed it for you. Most recently, he started a new sales career with Bell Audi. He was excited to explore this new career, taking joy in the vehicles he had the opportunity to drive and enjoy, and pride in successfully selling his first new vehicle in his first week. His gifts could not be denied.

Robbie was much more than the summary of his education and career. Hard to tell if it was his bright eyes or that captivating smile that made the room light up when he was with you. Funny and charming no doubt, he could bring a smile to your face and a laugh even if you tried to fight it. He would do anything for a friend and cared about being a good person. He was genuine, authentic and filled with character and compassion for others. He loved animals, especially his beloved pit bulls Kitana, Pepper and Winston. He enjoyed fast cars, long drives, thunderstorms, music, pong, Harry Potter, and all good things pirate like Captain Morgan and Bucs football. What he cherished most was good times, good conversation and good laughs with the ones he loved.

"Remember when….", the crazy stories, the laughs, the good times, and all the love and memories we share. This is what Robbie is thinking about and this is how he is remembered, loved and with us always in our hearts.

He was predeceased by his father, Edward J. Bruton, in January of 2016.

Surviving are his mother, Linda Benanti Bruton, of Avenel; a sister, Margaret Bruton, of Rahway; a brother, Edward Bruton, of Freehold; a niece, in Theresa; two nephews, Joshua and Ryan, and many cherished friends, all of whom will carry his spirit in their hearts.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St., Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be on Monday January 16, 2017, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
