Robert A. Berger passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his home in the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township. He was 80 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he has resided in Sewaren for the past 55 years.

Mr. Berger served in the Army National Guard; was a founding member of the Woodbridge Senior Billiard Club; was a former member of the Road Runner Car Club; and coached for Woodbridge Little League.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Irene Mikolajunas Berger.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara Schwartz Berger; loving children, William Berger and his wife, Vikki, of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Berger and his wife, Beatriz, of Boca Raton, FL, Edward Berger and his wife, Lisamarie, of Manalapan, Elizabeth Micallef and her husband, Michael, of Lake Worth, FL and Stephen Berger of Wilmington, NC; sister, Jean Collins, of Richmond, VA; and grandchildren, Rachel, Sydney, Gillian and Alexa.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 436 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading. Interment will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
