Rita Theresa Falar passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Fountain View Care Center in Lakewood. She was 80 years old. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Woodbridge for over 30 years before moving to Lakewood 12 years ago. Mrs. Falar was employed as a secretary with Bell Labs in New York City, Johnson and Johnson Corporation in New Brunswick and Engelhard Industries in Iselin for many years before retiring in 2002. She was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge and the Church of the Visitation in Brick. Mrs. Falar was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Marino. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Mario Falar; a daughter, Marie Erhard and her husband, Peter, of Bremen, Germany; a son, Michael Falar and his wife, Carole, of Woodbridge; and three grandchildren, Laura, Theresa and Giovanna. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
