Richard J. "Rick" Tanskey passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 after a long illness at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 68 years old.

Born in Jersey City on August 29, 1956, he resided in Bayonne before moving to Woodbridge 26 years ago.

Mr. Tanskey was employed with Preferred Freezer Services in Perth Amboy for over 30 years before retiring in 2020.

He enjoyed the company of family and friends; and was a longtime avid New York Giants football fan, attending games for over 30 years.

Mr. Tanskey was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Georgette and Edmund VandeVelde; and sisters, Lillian Campo, Louise Gearity and Frances Cameron.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 32 years, Eileen Ganley Tanskey; son, Richard T. Tanskey, of Woodbridge; brother, Robert Tanskey, of Edison; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
