Richard A. Simeone passed onto a new life, and hopefully where he will be comfortable to rest in peace on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his home in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township. He was 81 years old.

Born in Port Reading on January 12, 1943 to the late Rose and Michael Simeone, he was a lifelong resident. A loving and caring son to his mother his whole life, he always had concerns for her to live comfortable and worry free.

He was enlisted into the United States Army Reserve on November 22, 1963, where he served at Fort Dix for 6 years.

Mr. Simeone was employed with the Woodbridge Police Department for 27 years before retiring as a detective in 1995.

He was a dedicated communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Chrch in Port Reading where he served as a member of the Pastoral Council; was a lector; served on the buildings and grounds committee; and served as captain for Monday bingo.

He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 1613, Our Lady of Holy Rosary in Perth Amboy and Port Reading Fire Commissioners and Relief Association; and served as a member of the Woodbridge Township Board of Education.

He cherished spending time with friends, especially enjoying dinners with the Birthday Club and trips to Las Vegas.

In addition to his parents, Richie was predeceased by his brother, Mario Simeone.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Adrienne Makely Simeone; sister, Rosemarie Palinkas and her husband, Ray, of Edison; sisters in law, Bernice Seaman of Leland, NC and Ann Diken of Hamilton Square; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholich Church, Port Reading.
