Obituary

Richard M. Maniscalco, our dear Richie, was a beloved Husband, Father, Pop-Pop, Great Pop-Pop and Friend to everyone passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Saint Luke's Anderson Campus, Easton, PA. He was 88 years old. He was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church (now Good Shepherd Parish), Hopelawn; served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the Perth Amboy Uniformed Fire Department in 1990. He was a life member of F.M.B.A. 58, International Firefighters Local 286, American Legion Post 528 and a member of Retired Police and Fireman Local 9. Born on September 16, 1925 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Mattia and Carmelo Maniscalco, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty", daughter, Betty Ann, grandson, Frederick F. Miller III, brothers, Andrew, Adam, Frank, William, Victor, Sam and Roger and sisters, Eva Hunt and Sandy Polizzi. Richie and Betty spent their married life in Perth Amboy and later moved to Belvidere. Richie moved to Pennsylvania in 2006. He leaves behind a daughter, Marie and son-in-law, Frederick Miller, daughter Carol (Llanes) Maniscalco, son, Richard and daughter, Annette. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, who he dearly loved, Tara (husband Nelson), Joey (wife Diana), Rick, Jimmy, Nicole, Nicky, Amanda, Thomas, Meghan, Alex and Sara; and 4 great grandchildren that always brought a smile to his face, Emma, Cici (Ciara), Noah and Adriana, plus baby Llanes due soon, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Good Shepherd Parish, Hopelawn. Interment will be in the church cemetery in Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Parish and the Alzheimer's Foundation. The family wishes to thank the staff at C.I.T., Forks Township, PA and The Village on Sullivan Trail, Easton, PA along with the caring staff at Saint Luke's Anderson Campus, Easton, PA.
