Richard Fuentes passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home in Barnegat. He was 78 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Clark for many years before moving to Barnegat in 2007.

Mr. Fuentes owned and operated Royal Tire and Battery in Colonia for the past 30 years.

He was a communicant of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Colonia; a life member of BPOE Elks Lodge 2116, Woodbridge; honorary member of the Knights of Columbus; and a former member of Kiwanis International

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Loretta Paszko Fuentes; two daughters, Linda Hoffman of North Brunswick and Cheryl Fuentes of Edison; a son, Christopher, of Clark; a brother, Donald, of Brick; five grandchildren, Amy Lafferty, Lindsey and Justin Hoffman and Sara and Christopher Fuentes; and three great grandchildren, Brennan, Declan and Ryan.

Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Fuentes' memory to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
