Family-man, fisherman, and household comedian Richard Alan D'Arcy of Avenel passed away on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 66 years old. He was born May 6th, 1958, to James and Hazel Evans D'Arcy in Colonia, New Jersey, and lived there most of his life. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 1977 to 1981 as an electrician on the USS Monticello. Richard continued to work as a heat ventilation and air condition technician until his retirement. He lived his life to the fullest and then some. He was a friend of Bill W.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Joellen D'Arcy; his three children, son Vincent D'Arcy, daughter Angelina D'Arcy and daughter Leah D'Arcy; his siblings Daniel, James, Bobby, Dennis, Bill, Wendy, Lorraine and Kathy; and his grandchildren Noah, Mariah, Anthony, Kayla, Julia and Frankie.
Richard's memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:30pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron avenue, Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Woodbridge Animal Shelter.
