Reinhold "Ron" Strauss, Jr. entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 22, 2025 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 92 years old.
Born in Orange, NJ, and resided in Jersey City, NJ, later raising his family in Woodbridge where resided for 60 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was loved by everyone he met.
A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, he was an accountant with O'Connor, Davies in Paramus prior to his retirement in 2010.
Ron was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Married for 54 years to his beloved wife, Barbara. They enjoyed traveling with trips to England and Italy. He also enjoyed visits to Atlantic City, playing the Lottery, and long drives in the countryside to Pennsylvania and the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia. He was an avid football fan.
He was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge.
Mr. Strauss was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Henningsen) Strauss, in 2010; sons, Stephen Strauss in 2008 and Ronald Paul Strauss in 2018; and great granddaughter, Mia Anthony, in 2012.
Surviving are his devoted daughters, Susan Strauss-Rickwalder and her husband, Joseph and Carolyn (Strauss) Simione and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Stephen Strauss, Matthew Strauss, Maria (Strauss) Anthony, Andrew Southern and Benjamin Southern; and great grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Jesse, Delaney, Christian, Dorian, Marcus and Noah.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Costello- Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery at 650 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
