Raymond W. Schall passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township. He was 87 years old.
Born in Jersey City, he was a graduate of Dickerson High School before residing in Fords for over 40 years.
Raymond was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, and he was also a patrolman with the Woodbridge Police Department for 30 years before retiring in 1999. He previously served with the Middlesex County Park Police for several years.
Raymond belonged to the Messiah Lutheran Church in Parlin, was a member of the Retired Policeman's Local PBA #600, a life member of the Policeman's Benevolent Association Local #38 and a member of the New Jersey Police Honor Legion.
He was predeceased by his wife, Janet McLaughlin Schall, in 2011; parents George & Emily Schall; and brother, George Schall.
Surviving are his children, Sandy Reilly and her husband, Michael, Melissa Rizzo and her husband Anthony, Gary Schall, Richard McLaughlin and his wife, Joann, Kevin McLaughlin and his girlfriend, Robin Seyglinski, Michael McLaughlin and his girlfriend, Michele Zabicki, Donna McLaughlin and her boyfriend, John Connors and Darlene McLaughlin and her fiancé, Glenn Gizzi; grandchildren Brian, Joseph and Kayla McLaughlin, Elena and Matthew Rizzo and Amy and Vicky Reilly; great grandson Caden McLaughlin; and his best friend since childhood, Artie Saamundsen.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm with a brief service to follow at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-griener.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Interment will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown on December 29, 2021 at 1 p.m.
