Randy M. Chester passed away of an apparent heart attack on Friday, July 30, 2021 at his home in the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township while watching his favorite sport on TV, football. He was 44 years old.

Born in Edison, he was raised in Woodbridge and Jackson and has lived in Sewaren for the past 3 years.  He worked for the Township of Woodbridge for 10 years.

Randy was a graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, where he was a superb athlete and excelled in football. He played for the Jaguars from 1990 until 1994, covering the positions of wide receiver, safety and punt returner.

He loved New York City and the NY Jets, attending many games with his father. Cars were another one of his passions. Randy spent a lot of time working on his Fiat 500C Turbo, with the license plate "87", representing his football jersey number.

Randy was a kind soul and was in the process of collecting clothing and furniture for the victims of the recent tragic apartment fire in Carteret.

He was predeceased by his grandparents and will be deeply missed by his parents, Bruce and Josepha Justynski Chester.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
