Obituary

Phyllis C. De Ieso peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. She was 88 years old.

She was born on May 11, 1937 in Newark to the late Marie and Charles Curto and resided in Woodbridge, where she raised her four children before moving to Monroe Township in 1999.

She was a communicant member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Monroe Township; and belonged to the Italian-American Club of Clearbrook Village.

She, along with her late husband Richard, owned and operated Union Hill Road Coffee Shop in Irvington for many years before retiring in 1996.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Richard DeIeso II, whom she married on September 28, 1955. Their greatest accomplishments were their 4 children,  Nina Christian (Ron Son-in-Law), Carol Lange, Richard DeIeso III, and Barbara DeIeso (Scott Hansson Son-in-Law).

She had ten wonderful grandchildren Paul Christian (wife Alyssa), Tony Christian (wife Brielle), Mike Christian (wife Jaclyn), Melanie DeIeso, Bethany DeIeso, Lauren DeIeso, Antonio DeIeso, Gianna DeIeso, Travis Fee, and Jake Fee and seven great-grandchildren Lily Christian, Nathan Christian, Oliver Christian, Declan Christian, Riley Christian, Cora Christian, and Noelle Christian.

She will be remembered with deep love and devotion as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Phyllis was best known for her smile, positive attitude, perseverance, and kindness. Her presence brought warmth and light to everyone she encountered, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday May 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, Maryland 21230 ( https://nfb.org/contribute/give) in Mrs. De Ieso's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
