Peter A. Terranova of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. He was 83 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Avenel since 1973. Mr. Terranova was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a machinist with Hyatt Roller Bearing in Clark for 33 years, retiring in 1981. While working at Hyatt Roller Bearing he served as a union representative. After retiring he owned and operated Pete and Ginnies Cruise Travel for many years. Mr. Terranova was a life member of B.P.O. Elks, Lodge 2116, Woodbridge. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Jean LoCurto Terranova; and a brother, Thomas Terranova. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Weinmann Terranova; two daughters, Patricia Bergstrom and her husband, Carl, of Ashland, MA and Diane Lynch and her husband, Patrick, of Ashland, MA; a son, Henry Blank, and his wife, Cathy, of Vaccaville, CA; a sister, Antonina Garcia, and her husband, Eduardo, of Monroe Township; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Funeral Services will be private.
