Peter Rapoano of Woodbridge passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Lyons Veterans Hospital in Bernards Township, NJ. He was 66 years old. Born in Irvington, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1982. Mr. Rapoano was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Jean Garruto Rapoano; three aunts, Diane Spera, Helen Garruto and Eleanor Garruto; and an uncle, Frank Garruto. He is survived by an aunt, Connie McGovern of Union; an uncle, Peter Garruto, of Woodbridge; and many cousins. Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
