Patrick J. Scognamiglio passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was 77 years old.

Born in New York, NY, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1988.

Mr. Scognamiglio was a graduate of Saint John's University and New York Law School.

He retired as a partner with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby and MacRae in 2013 after 30 years and has been senior attorney with Drinker Biddle and Reath for the past 6 years in New York City.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Scognamiglio in 1973 and Anne Chiarello Scognamiglio in 2004; his first wife, Nancy Scognamiglio, in 1997; and grandson, Jake, in February of this year.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Wendy Kortrey; children, Jennifer Scognamiglio of Oyster Bay, NY, James Scognamiglio of Las Vegas, NV, Patrick Scognamiglio of Oyster Bay, NY, David Scognamiglio of Las Vegas, NV, Rachel Ingham of Chapel Hill, NC, Daniel Scognamiglio of Portland, OR and Michael Kortrey of Portland, OR; sister, Jeanette Lipp and her husband, Hank, of Woodbridge; grandchildren, Joseph, Kiera, Margaret, Ben, Tyler, Carly and Hannah; nieces, Janet Coyle and her husband, John, and JoAnne Bedenek and her husband, Zoltan; nephew, Joseph Lipp and his wife, Gina; and great nieces and great nephews, Sarah, Anna, Anthony, Zoli, Grace and Zachary.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
