Patricia M. Zega passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Saint Joseph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodbridge, surrounded by her family. She was 84 years old.

Born on March 19, 1939 in Woodbridge, she grew up in Perth Amboy and graduated St Mary's high school in 1957. She resided in Woodbridge for the last 63 years. Patricia was a twenty-one-year employee of Public Service Electric and Gas Company at their Sewaren generating facility prior to her retirement in 2006. She was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.

She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Edward Walsh. Surviving are her four children, daughter Susan and wife Martine of Bridgewater, son Robert and wife Patsy of Middletown, Patrick and wife Rena of South Plainfield, and William and wife Meredith of Lanoka Harbor; sister, Dorothy Marsh, of Linwood; and loving grandchildren, Veronica and husband Wayne Porter, John Zega, Robby Zega, Zach Zega and Hayley Zega.

Patricia, affectionately known as Grammy, loved spending time at the beach, specifically Cape May and Martha's Vinyard. She loved gardening and reading books of all kinds including any book about the Kennedy's. Patricia enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She took pride in hosting picnics and family dinners every Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Funeral services will be private for immediate family under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (michaeljfox.org), or Saint Joseph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodbridge, in memory of Patricia "Grammy" Zega, would be greatly appreciated by her family.
