Patricia A. Amato passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital in Winter Garden, FL. She was 85 years old.

Born on April 10, 1938 in Queens, NY, she resided in Ridgewood, Woodhaven and Middle Village, NY.  Upon her husband's retirement in 2010, she moved to Iselin, NJ and then traded that for the sunshine and palm trees of Winter Garden, Florida.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert J. Amato who passed away in 2020; and a brother John Rogers who passed away in 1994.

Family meant more to Patricia than anything. Together, Bob and Pat raised five children, Michael Amato and his wife, Mary, of Clermont, FL, Linda Caccippio and her husband, Dominick, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, James Amato and his wife, Karen, of Commack, NY, Diane Russell and her husband, Bill, of Colonia, NJ and Kathy Bellone and her husband, Joseph, of Massapequa, NY.

Pat was most proud of her 12 grandchildren, Keith, Danny, Chris, Dom, Jr., Marissa, Stephen, Brian, Katie, Brooke, Madeline, Anthony and Gina; and her 7 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Gwenyth, Philippa, Kira, Nathan, Bennett and Sebastian.

Pat loved to be in service to others.  She was a Eucharistic Minister and a CCD teacher for 28 years preparing children for their First Holy Communion at St. Elizabeth's in Ozone Park, NY.  She was also a devoted parishioner at St. Margaret's in Middle Village NY and then at St. James in Woodbridge, NJ.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
