Olga Hnatuk Cardner passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Holiday Care Center in Toms River. She would have celebrated her 92nd birthday in August. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1921 to Andrew and Eva Hnatuk, she moved to South Bound Brook and graduated in 1938 from Bound Brook High School. She married Edson Cardner in 1940 and resided in Plainfield, South Bound Brook, and Somerset where they raised their 2 children. Mrs. Cardner was employed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and Rutgers University, New Brunswick from where she retired in the 1980's. She moved to Toms River where she resided for the past 25 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her husband Edson C. Cardner in 1973, a son Thomas Cardner in 2000, and her sister Anne Hnatuk Wisiecki in 1998. She is survived by a daughter Susan Andreola and her husband Alfred; her daughter-in-law Beverly Clarke Cardner; 5 beloved grandchildren Christopher Andreola and his wife Danielle, David Andreola and his wife Amy, Jonathan Cardner and his wife Shannon, Janet Cardner Acerra and her husband Michael, and Jamie Cardner Baldwin and her husband Todd; 5 dearly loved great-grandchildren; a sister Nettie Hnatuk Gallo; a brother William Hnatuk and his wife Jenny; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will take place on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will be in Bound Brook Cemetery.
