Nicholas A. Calamito passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division. He was 70 years old. Born in Jersey City, he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the past 47 years. Mr. Calamito was employed as a motorman with the PATH System for 31 years before retiring in 2001; and served in the New Jersey National Guard. He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel, and a member of the St. Andrew Council 5088, Knights of Columbus, Avenel. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Carol Trapanese Calamito; two sons, Nicholas J. Calamito and his wife, Denise, of Middlesex and David T. Calamito of Edison; two sisters, Agnes Santasieri of Fords and Susan Zdanowicz of Casa Grande, AZ; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Connor. Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
