Monk Nicholas Capece passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth. He was 80 years old.

He was born in Elizabeth and served at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church there for over 40 years.

Surviving are two sisters, Marie Armstrong of Lakewood and Lucille Capece of Avenel; two brothers, Thomas Capece of Avenel and Robert Capece of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, 211 West Grand Avenue, Rahway. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
