Mildred Walbroel Dillen passed away quietly at her home in Woodbridge on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. She was 91 years old. Born in Newark on April 15, 1923, Mildred was one of seven children, and eldest daughter of Mary and John Walbroel. Mildred was the beloved wife of the late Elgin 'Jack' Dillen, a World War II Veteran and longtime executive with The White Castle Company. She was the loving mother-in-Law of the late David Padnes; and was also predeceased by her brothers, John 'Sonny' Walbroel, William Walbroel, Joseph Walbroel and Robert Walbroel and sisters, Dorothy Walbroel Daly and Joan Walbroel Benevides Buttros. A longtime resident of Woodbridge, Mildred is survived by her daughters, Mary Mackie and her husband, Raymond, of Lake in the Hills, IL, Patricia Padnes of Fair Haven and Jacqueline Dillen of Woodbridge; six grandchildren, Debbie Mackie Murphy, Raymond Mackie, Jr., Michael Mackie, Michael Padnes, Kevin Padnes and Kimberly Padnes; and eight beloved great grandchildren. She was aunt and great aunt to a family of nieces, nephews and their children. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Costello-Greiner funeral home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
