Obituary

Michael A. Lewis of Toms River passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Holiday Care Center in Toms River. He was 92 years old. Born in Woodbridge; He resided in Woodbridge and Roselle Park before moving to Toms River in 1987. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Lewis was employed as an Embroider with Schiffli Co. of Union City for 30 years retiring in 1982. He was a Communicant of The Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park. He was predeceased by his wife Lena A. DeMarco Lewis who passed away in 2010; his parents Woodbridge Police Officer Joseph Lewis and Nancy Romano Lewis; two sisters Anna Calvi and Marie Thiele; and a brother Paul Lewis. He is survived by two sons Gary Lewis of Avenel and James Lewis of Edison; a granddaughter Charlene Warchol. The Funeral will take place Monday 9:00 am from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St., Avenel. A 9:30 am Funeral liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's R.C. Church. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
