Michael J. Karafa passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 75 years old.

Born in New York City on October 31, 1950 to the late Mary and Stephen Karafa, he resided in Brooklyn and Staten Island before moving to Woodbridge 38 years ago.

Mr. Karafa was employed as a warehouse manager and logistics coordinator with Gotham Distribution and then with Sabert Corporation in Sayreville prior to his retirement.

He coached youth basketball at Merrill Park and assisted his wife in her many volunteer activities. He loved to cook and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry; and was an avid Yankees and Jets fan.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Regan Karafa; son, Michael W. Karafa and his wife, Tina, of Colonia; daughter, Erika Karafa, of Woodbridge; brothers, Stephen Karafa and his wife, Barbara, of Whitestone, Queens and James Karafa and his wife, Catherine, of Greenlawn, Long Island; cousins, Anna Hourkala and Susan Jesnes; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Woodbridge Buddy Ball, 2 Pine Tree Drive, Colonia, NJ 07067 in Mr. Karafa's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
