Michael J. Hanley of Cliffwood passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. He was 35 years old. Born in Elizabeth, NJ; He resided in Colonia before moving to Cliffwood six years ago. He was was a graduate of St. John Vianney Elementary School, St. Joseph's High School, Metuchen Class of 1997. He graduated from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA with a Bachelors of Arts in 2001, and earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State School of Law in 2004. Mr. Hanley was an Attorney with Deloitte Financial Advisory Services in Jersey City for the past eight years. Michael had a love of the New York Yankees, Chelsea Soccer, and Zenescope. He was an ardent Michigan State sports fan. Michael had a love of music especially Bruce Springsteen. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Powanda and his paternal grandfather, Michael F. Hanley; and his Godfather, Kent Condit. He is survived by his beloved wife Amy Przytycki Hanley; his loving parents Michael and Barbara Powanda Hanley of Colonia; his paternal grandmother Margaret Hanley of Colonia; his mother-in-law Barbara Przytycki of South Orange, NJ; his Godmother Sandra Powanda-Kauffman of Rahway; and his goddaughter Juliet Trier; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral will take place Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. A 10:45 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. John Vianney R.C. Church 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
