Obituary

Michael A. Haake passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 after a two year battle with cancer with his loving wife, Jean, at his side. He was 49 years old.

Born in Rahway, he resided in Carteret before moving to Metuchen 20 years ago.

Michael earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Saint John's University in Staten Island and was employed by Barclay's Capital in New York City for the past 15 years.

Mike will always be remembered for his devotion to his family. His warmth and kindness touched so many people. His sense of humor brought smiles to many faces. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, riding his bike and playing the guitar.

Mr. Haake was predeceased by his father, Robert Haake.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Jean Marie Gaughran Haake; his children, Emily Haake and Jacob Haake, both at home; his mother, Tina Rondinone Haake, of Carteret; a sister, Lisa Haake, of Carteret; brothers, Robert Haake and his wife, Susan, of High Bridge, David Haake and his wife, Grace, of Maui, HI, Brian Haake and his wife, Diane, of Toms River and twin brother, John Haake and his wife, Melissa, of Sayreville; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:15 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen, where Michael was a communicant. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) in Michael's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
