Michael F. Egan, Jr. passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his home in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township. He was 71 years old. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Springfield before moving to Colonia in 2011. Mr. Egan was employed as a manager with Northrup Grumman Corporation in Herndon, VA; and was previously employed by Hitachi Data Systems in New York City. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose Marie Bevilacqua Egan and Michael F. Egan, Sr.; and a brother, John Egan. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Patricia McCool Egan; a daughter, Cheryl Egan DeMarks, and her husband, Thomas, of Branchburg; a son, Michael Egan, and his wife, Kelly, of Denville; a sister, Margaret Dragseth, and her husband, John, of Bedminster; step children, Debbie and Derek King, both of Colonia; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Jace Egan. Visitation will be on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Funeral services will be on on Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Donations to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) in Michael's memory would be appreciated.
