Michael A. Carney of Woodbridge passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home.  He was 77 years old.

Born in Elizabeth; He resided in Woodbridge for the past 48 years.

Mr. Carney was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as a Air Craft Mechanic with T.W.A. and American Airlines at Newark, JFK, LaGuardia and St. Louis Airports for 40 years retiring in 2008.

He was a Communicant of St. James R.C.  Church in Woodbridge and a member of the T. Nulty Post #471 American Legion in Iselin.

He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Edith Gurnsey Carney.

Surviving are his wife of  57 years Catherine Spisak Carney; three daughters Laura Schneider and her husband Glenn of Edison, Lisa Cassitta of Woodbridge, Jennifer Rodriguez and her husband Steve of Cranford; a son Matthew Carney of Hampton, NJ; his grandchildren Tommy, Ashley, Billy, Amanda, Justin, Sarah, Makayla, Kyle, Jaxon, Mason, and Siena;  two great-grandchildren Callie and J.T..

Funeral will take place Wednesday, March 17, 2021 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. James R.C. Church, Woodbridge.  Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
