May Oldak passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Sunrise at Jackson Nursing Center. She was 97 years old.

Born in New York City on May 28, 1926 to the late Katherine and Mike Yurdiga, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1953.

Mrs Oldak was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and belonged to the Rosary Society there. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Avenel Memorial Post 7164, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Avenel and T. Nulty Post 471, American Legion, Iselin; and also belonged to Golden Circle, Avenel Seniors.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Oldak, in 2009; and son, Glenn Oldak, in 2020.

Surviving are her children, Kathryn Oldak of Carteret, William Oldak and his wife, Jan, of Jackson and Robert Oldak of New Lisbon; grandchildren, Lisa and Kenneth; and great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Raena and Adalyn.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 244 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001 in Mrs. Oldak's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
