Obituary

May Bertha Menafro of Woodbridge passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 81 years old. Born in Nutley, NJ she resided in Harrison before moving to Woodbridge 12 years ago. Mrs. Menafro was a member of The Woodbridge United Methodist Church, a Member and past president of The V.F.W. Post #340 Ladies Auxiliary in Harrison, as well as a member of The V.F.W. Post #1302 Ladies Auxiliary in Kearny. She was employed as a clerk with American Insurance Co. in Newark and with Pechters Harrison Baking Co. before retiring in 1994. She was predeceased by two sisters Gladys Croteau and Helen Baker; a brother Russell Appelgit. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Michael Menafro, two daughters Susan Menafro and Michelle Calantoni and her husband Victor; three grandchildren Briana DeCarvalho and her husband Felix, Anthony Calantoni, and Deanna Calantoni, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 9:30 a.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
