Maryann E. Kardos passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck. She was 91 years old.

Born in Marion Heights, PA, she resided in Metuchen before moving to Little Ferry in 2010.

Mrs. Kardos was employed as a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Michael Hodes in Fords for over 40 years before her retirement; and had previously worked in the same capacity in the offices of Drs. Madaras and Backos, also in Fords. She had aided the war effort during World War II by working in a factory in Perth Amboy making spark plugs.

Mrs. Kardos was a longtime member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy.

Her husband, Dennis Kardos, passed away in 1957.

Surviving are two daughters, Dr. Denise Marie Kardos Hart and her companion, Dennis McGettigan, of Little Ferry and Monica Kreger and her husband, Allen, of Fords.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 664 Amboy Avenue, Perth Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
