Mary Michna, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves behind her a loving daughter and son, Diane and Michael and caring son-in-law, John.
Mary was born to the late Joseph and Katherine Verobie in Dupont, Pennsylvania. Mary met the love of her life, Michael Michna at her sister Kay's wedding where she was introduced by her brother, Joe. They married soon after and resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She had seven brothers and sisters: Joseph, Steve, John, Mickey, Anna, Katherine and Helen and many nieces and nephews and many long-lasting friendships.
Mary worked at Singer Sewing Machine Company, Scott Manufacturing and later she joined Union County Savings Bank and worked there for almost 25 years where she was a receptionist/customer support.
Mary was a wonderful sister, aunt and friend. A devoted wife to Mike for 60 years, she was a kind, patient and loving person who would go out of her way to help anyone. She was loved and admired by all who came to know her. Dancing the polka with Mike always gave both of them a broad beaming smile.
Mary was an excellent cook and baker, and no one can ever forget Christmas Eve at the Michna house. Homemade pierogis, halushki, mushroom soup and many kinds of delicious cookies and cheesecake. We all looked forward to this special night every year and no one went home hungry.
Mary also loved to sew and could mend any garment to make it look brand new. She made dresses and suits with ease, a real talent.
May the angels lead Mary to Paradise.
