Mary A. Luber of South Plainfield passed away on Sunday May 23, 2021, exactly 1 month after her 85 ^th birthday at Ashbrook Care Center in Scotch Plains, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ; She resided in South Plainfield for the past 58 ½ years.

First and foremost, she was a wonderful and doting wife, mother and homemaker.   In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a Charter Member of The South Plainfield Chapter of B'nai Brith Women, and a former member of Temple Shalom in Plainfield, where she had made her Bat Mitzvah.

She also crocheted lap robes for the elderly, and visited nursing homes with her dearest friend, Barbara Rosen to distribute them and to visit, brightening the days of the residents..

She was so very very grateful all of her life for the love, care, and guidance, of her dearest Aunt Margaret.

Mrs. Luber was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Helen Metzler; her Step-mother, Betty Metzler, a sister Grace Motyczka; and a brother George Metzler.

She is survived by her adoring and adored husband Arthur M. Luber.  They would have been married 66 years come June 19 ^th of this year. Surviving to mourn her loss are also her daughter,  Cynthia Barnes and her fiancé, David Travis; a son, Brian Luber, and his wife Joni.  She leaves behind her dear Cousin, Frances Ehman-Bellak, and several nieces, nephews and their families, whom she loved with all her heart.

The most important thing in her life was her husband and their family.  She loved to celebrate the holidays, and just spend time together.  She enjoyed many hobbies, including beautiful craft work, collecting Blue Willow, and visiting and spending time in Cape May, amongst them.  She was a loyal friend, a doting wife, a loving mother, and a woman of great strength and character   Her loss will be felt by many. She was a beautiful, generous, giving and loving soul.   Please know that she loved all of you, and was grateful for and to you all for the wonderful times spent together.

A graveside memorial service will take place on Wednesday, May 26 ^th at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ.  Please meet at the Cemetery office by 1:40 pm they ask that we be prompt. We will proceed in our cars from there.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be very grateful for donations to be made to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
