Mary Kopanyi passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 84 years old. Born in Montreal, Canada, she has resided in Brantford, Ontario before moving to Woodbridge where she resided most of her life. Mrs. Kopanyi was employed as an assembler with RCA Corporation in Avenel for 15 years before her retirement in 1980; and belonged to the John Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church in Woodbridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve Kopanyi, in 2006; and three sisters, Elizabeth Horvath, Margaret Szarko and Ann Szanto. She is survived by three sons Steve W. Kopanyi and his wife, Laurie, of Hamilton square, Frank Kopanyi and his wife, Klaren, of Missouri and Thomas Kopanyi of Whiting; two brothers, John and Frank Dzsudzsak; three grandchildren, Alyssa Lauren, T.K. and Kassandra; and a great grandson, Hunter. The funeral will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the John Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church, School and James Streets, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
