Mary A. Kelly passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 70 years old.

Mary was born in Perth Amboy on March 29, 1955 to the late Angelo "Sonny" Zullo and Claire Donahue. She spent the bulk of her childhood living in Colonia before moving to New York City after high school to pursue nursing.

She worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years, spending much of this time with VNA of Central Jersey before her eventual retirement in 2020.

Mary lived in the same house in Avenel with her family since 1986, and was a communicant of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her son, Liam Kelly, in 2023; and brother, Alfred "Butchie" Zullo, in 2011.

Surviving are her children, Luke Kelly and his wife, Elissa, of Avenel, Matthew Kelly and his wife, Julie, of Red Bank, and Claire Celi and her husband, Anthony, of Raritan; father of her children, Michael Kelly, of Point Pleasant; cousin and best friend, Annalynn Miele, of Edison; grandchildren, Dylan, Everly, Hayden, Bridget, Rosemary, and Leo; beloved dog, Forrest; and many others who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (399 Avenel Street, Avenel).

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Liam Kelly Memorial Music Scholarship in Mary's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
