Mary M. Hoffman passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington. She was 98 years old.

Born in Newark on October 2, 1927 to the late Helen and John Kendall, she was a lifetime resident of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township.

Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge and served for many years as curator of the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum in Rahway.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Jay J. Hoffman, in 2012; sons, William Hoffman and Donald Hoffman; and sister, Barbara Taggart.

Surviving are her children, Robert J. Hoffman of Barnegat, Linda Hoffman of High Bridge, Patricia Knarr of Nazareth, PA and Bonnie Hoffman of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Justin Hoffman, Lindsey O'Rourke, Amy Lafferty, Suzanne Williams, Tricia Knarr, Kate Ellen Cho, Kelsey Philibert, Kathleen Klardie, Cristin Hanrahan and Jennifer Chiarello; and great grandchildren, Brooke, Nolan, Brennan, Declan, Ryan, Rosalind, Myrna Mae, Holly, Vivienne, Kayleigh, Gabriel and Christian.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Trinity Church Cemetery, Woodbridge. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mrs. Hoffman's memory would be greatly appreciated by her loved ones.
