Mary T. Gorka passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. She was 93 years old.

Born in Elizabeth on May 21, 1932 to the late Mary and Thomas Stewart, she was a 1950's graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Elizabeth; and has resided in Avenel for 60 years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Rich, in 1965; and sisters, Helen Cunniff and Margaret "Peg" Killough.

Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, William Gorka; children, Barbara (John) McGann of Toms River, Patricia Rich of Iselin, Raymond Rich (Jenine) of Allentown, PA, Thomas Rich of Manville, David Rich of Sayreville and Michelle Bernisky (Kenny) of Avenel; grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Raymond, Noreen, Allison, Rachel, Kyle, Timothy, David, Andrew, Kenneth and Jade; great grandchildren, Sophia, Johnny, Mackenzie, Jack, Roger, Rio, Remy, Luke and Weston; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:45 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
