Our sweet grandma, Martina Iacovelli, 87, passed away on July 23, 2019 at Centro Médico Bautista in Asuncion, Paraguay. She went peacefully in the afternoon, reuniting with her beloved Rocco in heaven, while listening to "O Sole Mio."

Martina was many things to many people in her life. She was a teacher in her native Paraguay before coming to the United States in 1974. She was a longtime resident of Kearny, NJ. She gave life to three beautiful children: Emilia, Alejandro and Julie. She was a loving wife to Rocco, our pop, may he continue to Rest In Peace. In her greatest role, she was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother who filled our lives full of love, laughs and delicious food: Alexa, Will, Sigourney, Alan, Norma, Emilio, Angel, Elysa, Mirtha; Noah, Evan, Jonathan, Giovanny, Lauren, Jacob, Jessica, Nati and Emilio.

To know grandma was to love her, a hilarious little lady with big puffy hair who kept us all on our toes. She loved reading her newspaper everyday, watching her telenovelas, and her most favorite pastime: spending time with her loved ones. Especially her furry family: Luna, Stella, Smoky and Koda.

Grandma, we've adored you all our lives. We love you forever. May you Rest In Peace with Pop by your side.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
