Obituary

Martha Marion Storey Webb passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Roosevelt Care, Edison. She was 92 years old. A lifelong resident of Woodbridge, she was born there on April 4, 1923 to the late James M. and Esther F. Jackson Storey. Martha worked at Raritan Arsenal during World War II, and then for FMC Corporation in Carteret, and retired from the Metuchen Board of Education in 1987 as payroll supervisor. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Woodbridge. In her teens she belonged to the choir and Altar Guild. In 2005, Mrs. Webb received the Parishioner of the Year award from Trinity Church. She was a member of the Public Employees Retirement System, AARP Chapter 3869, Woodbridge Senior Citizens and Daughters of the King. In 1957 Mrs. Webb was president of Woodbridge VFW Post 4410, Ladies Auxiliary; and in 2009 wrote an article entitled "Let's Travel Up and Down Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ in the 1930's". In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband and best friend, James R. Webb, in 1997; a sister, Margaret Washburn Shaffer; two brothers, George E. Washburn and James F. Storey; and a nephew, George E. Washburn, Jr. She is survived by a sister, Alice F. Byoris, of Woodbridge; close nieces and nephews, Dorothy Washburn of Melbourne, FL, Florence and Nick Mele of Bel Air, MD, Kathleen and Ronald Herzog of East Windsor, Virginia Kershaw of Colonia and Thomas and Donna Byoris of Colonia; along with many great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews on both her, and her husband's, sides. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Funeral services will be on Thursday beginning at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass at Trinity Episcopal Church, 650 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in the church cemetery alongside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Trinity Episcopal Church, 650 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Martha's memory would be appreciated.
