Marlene J. Romano passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. She was 81 years old.

Born in Jersey City on August 8, 1941 to the late Lucille and Anthony Maiorano, she resided in Union City and Secaucus before moving to the Fords section of Woodbridge Township over 50 years ago.

As a young woman, Mrs. Romano volunteered at her local hospital as a candy striper and served as an early childhood education teacher after graduating from college. She was later employed as an interior designer with Macy's in Paramus before her retirement.

She was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Michael J. Romano; daughter, Justine Romano Kostecki and her husband, Michael, of Montville; son, Craig Romano and his wife, Tatiana, of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren, Nicole, Sonya and Eva .

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
