Mark Melendez passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit. He was 48 years old.

Born in Rahway on November 18, 1975, he was a lifelong resident of Avenel and Carteret.

Mark has been employed with BAMCO Architectural Facades in Middlesex as a fabricator for the past 10 years.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and an avid skateboard and snowboard enthusiast.

Mr. Melendez was predeceased by his father, Jose Antonio Melendez, in 2021.

Surviving are his mother Pamela and her husband Kenneth Gulvas, of Carteret; sister, Traci Melendez, of Staten Island, NY; brothers, Michael Melendez of Carteret and Christopher Melendez of North Brunswick; his loving nieces and nephews, Alex, Devin, Michael, Jr., Peter and Danielle; and adored great nieces and nephews, Myles, Julia Grace and Pedro.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
