Marjorie M. Behrens passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 85 years old.

Born in Reading, PA on June 22, 1938 to the late Catherine and William DeHart, she has resided in Avenel since 1958.

Mrs. Behrens was employed as a secretary with Merck & Company in Rahway prior to her retirement.

A talented painter, she will always be remembered for her love of art and her artistic ability. Marjorie also enjoyed spending time at the Barron Arts Center and painting at the Senior Center in Port Reading.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Roland Behrens, in 1992.

Surviving are her children, Carey Lombard of Edison and William Behrens and his wife, Laura, of Avenel; sisters, Ann Gurniak of Macungie, PA and Kathy Doherty of Old Bridge; grandchildren, Sean and his wife Talia, Meredith and Mathew Lombard; great grandchildren, Connor and Noah Lombard; and grandson of the heart, Paul Rusk.

Funeral services will be private under the direction of Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Mrs. Behrens' memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
