Marie Elizabeth Stephan passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was 92 years old.

Marie was born in Woodbridge on August 23, 1929 to the late Ed and Betty Trost. She was a lifelong Woodbridge resident. In retirement, she and her husband also enjoyed many happy years living part time in Florida.

She was a lifelong member of The First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge and was the most senior active member of the congregation at the time of her passing. She was involved in the Presbyterian Women and Presbyterian Guild groups of the church.

Among her many interests and hobbies were gardening, painting, embroidery, knitting and crocheting, tennis and bridge. She was a member of the Woodbridge Pickwick Club. She was also a highly accomplished seamstress.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephan was predeceased by her husband Robert "Steph" Stephan in 2007 and her brother Edward Trost, Jr in 1981.

Surviving are her children, Robert E. (Marilyn) Stephan, Kathryn M. (Brad) Hoefer and Richard H. (Jane) Stephan; her brother Henry (Cathy) Trost; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, 600 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ.
