Maria Machos passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 75 years old. Born in Newark, she resided in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township for most of her life. Mrs. Machos was employed as business manager for Rutgers University in New Brunswick for many years before her retirement. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Walter Machos; a daughter, Maria Kutassy and her husband, Thomas, of Lanoka Harbor; a son, James Machos and his wife, Gina, of Blackwood; two sisters, Ruth Polo of Florida and Joan Emm of Iselin; a brother, Alvin Foester, of Colonia; 5 grandchildren, Nicole Wissel, Stephen Albrecht and James, Gianna and Jacklyn Machos; and a great granddaughter, Keira Wissel. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
