W ith great affection, we remember Maria Kocsis, who peacefully passed on January 17, 2024.  Despite the many challenges Maria faced in life, she lived with grace and a generous heart.

Emigrating from Hungary, Maria and her husband, Bela, always remembered their family roots.  When their daughter, Valerie was born, the Kocsis family was complete.

In her later years, after the passing of her beloved husband, Maria became the center of her Maple Tree Manor community in Avenel, NJ.  Maria was an avid shopper, not for herself; she was usually buying  presents and snacks for her many friends and acquaintances.  When her daughter, Valerie moved into a  New Jersey Institute for Disabilities group home, Maria's generosity then extended to Valerie's housemates and the staff.  Maria would visit a few times each week and her arms would be filled with gifts and goodies for all to share.

Maria's heart was truly made of gold and her kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion were a blessing to all who knew her. Maria will be long remembered by all, as Valerie will cherish her mother's memory.

Memorial prayers and inurnment will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 1:00 pm at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
