Maria Donachie of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 surrounded by family at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. She was 81 years old.

Born in Havana, Cuba on April 1, 1942 to the late Olga and Mario DeRojas, she has resided in Woodbridge Township since 1977.

Mrs. Donachie received her undergraduate degree from Catholic University and earned her Master's Degree from Rutgers University. One of her greatest joys was her employment as a Spanish teacher at Saint Thomas Aquinas/Bishop Ahr High School in Edison for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2017.

In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her loving husband, Victor J. Donachie, in 2010.

Surviving are her children, Christina Prisco and her husband, Gregg, of Coto De Caza, CA and Craig Donachie of Port Reading; sister, Mirtha Wincele, of San Clemente, CA; and her beloved grandson, Nicholas James Prisco.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Fords. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
