Maria Chirco passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Genesis Westfield Center. She was 83 years old.

Born in Carini, Sicily, Italy, she resided in Brooklyn before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 4 years ago.

Mrs. Chirco was employed as a custodian at Bishop Ford High School in Brooklyn for 20 years prior to her retirement.

She was predeceased by her husband, Umberto Chirco, in November of 2018.

Surviving are her children, Emma Micara and her husband, Joseph, of Lindenhurst, NY and Ricardo Chirco of Avenel; brother, Frank Migliore and his wife, Marucia; and grandchildren, Krista and Sara Chirco and Joseph and his wife, Sarah, Michael, Michele and Anthony Micara.

A funeral liturgy will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2805 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11218. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ) 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mrs. Chirco's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
