Margaret E. Zullo Runkel of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center She was 71 years old. Born in Carteret, NJ: She resided there most of her life before moving to Avenel 15 years ago. She was a 1962 graduate of Carteret High School. Mrs. Runkel was employed as a Bank Teller for 30 years most recently at Liberty Bank and Northfield Bank in Avenel until 2002; she was employed with The Woodbridge Township Division of Aging for 6 years retiring in 2008. She was a member and past president of The Avenel Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband Anthony Zullo who passed away in 1984; her parents Joseph and Rose Martenczuk Finn; three Brothers Robert Finn, John Finn, and Joseph Finn. She is survived by her husband Earl A. Runkel, II; her children Tony Zullo and his wife Carla; Cheryl Raike and her husband Brian, Earl A. Runkel, III, and Jonathan Runkel; five sisters Rose Hidi, Adele Kondas, Mary Ann Csimbok, Helen Remas, and Catherine King; two sister-in-laws Alice Finn, and Janice Finn; a brother William Finn; her grandchildren William Moran, Cheryl and Chris Ankudovich, and Shaun Moran; a great-granddaughter Aubriella Ankudovich. Funeral services will take place Saturday 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
