Margaret Sofka of Edison passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. She was 89 years old. Born in Newark, NJ; She resided in Edison most of her life. Mrs. Sofka was a communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel. She was employed as a Clerk Typist with St. Paul Insurance Company in Edison for many years retiring in 1989. Mrs. Sofka was predeceased by a granddaughter Stephanie Ball who passed away in 2008; a sister Marie Manco; and a brother Frank Manco. She is survived by a daughter Gail Ball and her husband Wayne of Scotch Plains; a son Stephen Sofka and his wife Luanne of California; two sisters Claire Bralczyk of Newark, and Kay Dominici of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren Tracy Ball, Wayne Ball, Steven Sofka, and Michael Sofka; a great-grandchild Mackenzie. Funeral will take place Thursday 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's Church. Interment will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
