Margaret "Peggy" McCartney Guenther

Age 89 of Clark, NJ, passed away on Monday August 16, 2021.  Visitation will be at St. John the Apostle Church, Clark, NJ, on Thursday , August 19 ^th from 3 to 7pm. Funeral Mass is Friday, August 20 ^th at 10am at church, with interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Peggy was the beloved wife of Robert F. Guenther, Sr. for 61 years until his death in 2015 and the loving mother of Margaret Eichinger, her late husband Karl, Barbara Fountain, her husband John, John Guenther, his wife Jacqueline, Joseph Guenther, his wife Jeannine, mother-in-law of Linda Guenther, sister-in-law of Msgr. Donald Guenther, Bruce Guenther, Warren Guenther and Guy Guenther.

Peggy leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert Jr., her parents, James and Lucia McCartney, her granddaughter, Patricia Ann Fountain, her sisters, Eileen Gantly, Jean Hennessey, Ruth McCartney, her brothers, James McCartney Jr. and Robert McCartney, Sr.

Peggy was dedicated to her family and friends and genuinely cared for others. She was a communicant of St. John the Apostle Church where she was a former member of the Rosary Altar Society and Pre-Cana team with her husband, Robert. Her faith carried her through life into her transition to be with our Lord.

Along with her husband, Peggy enjoyed many years of Irish dancing, family game nights, hosting holiday gatherings and traveling. Mom/Nanny/Peg will truly be missed by her family and friends and anyone who was lucky enough to meet her as she never forgot a face.
